Hot or cold application
VetSet PolDress is a highly absorbent, multi-layered and impregnated dressing making it the preferred choice of many veterinarians.
Directions for use:
Ensure application area is clean. Dressings should be changed approximately every 12 hours. For maximum effect, the PolDress should be impregnated with water. This will activate the Tragacanth, which when wet draws dirt and debris to maintain a moist clean environment, supporting the healing process.
Hot Dressing:
Cut the poultice dressing to size and place in boiled water, which has been cooled to 38oC (100oF). Once wet, remove poultice dressing from water and squeeze out excess water. Apply to relevant area, keeping plastic backing away from the skin. Hold the poultice dressing in place with VetSet WrapTec Cohesive Bandage (sold separately).
Cold Dressing:
Soak the poultice dressing in clean cold water and apply to relevant area. To use chilled, place the poultice dressing in a refrigerator. Ensure poultice dressing is kept in a bag. Always apply poultice dressing with plastic backing away from skin. Hold the poultice dressing in place with VetSet WrapTec Cohesive Bandage (sold separately).
Dry Dressing:
Apply the PolDress poultice dressing direct and hold in place with VetSet WrapTec Cohesive Bandage (sold separately).
Always apply poultice dressing with plastic backing away from skin.
